Places to discover in Guérande
The Moulin de la Falaise and the Tour Saint-Guénolé are worth a visit during your stay at campsite Batz-sur-Mer.
This 16th century mill was moved, then put back in its place, abandoned, then restored to its original state. Today, young and old alike can visit this typical Guérande hillside mill known as “à petit pied”, and admire its original mechanism.
The Saint-Guénolé tower offers, from the top of its seventy meters, since the XVIIth century the most beautiful viewpoint of the whole peninsula. In good weather, you can enjoy a 180° view of the islands of Noirmoutier, Hoëdic, Houat and Belle-Île, as well as the salt marshes, the Saint-Nazaire bridge…
Guérande, labelled “Ville d’Art et d’Histoire” (City of Art and History), will take you back in time to the medieval period. Just like Balzac, Apollinaire, Zola… lose yourself in this fortified city and let yourself be seduced by its ramparts, by the architecture of its historic centre, its collegiate church Saint-Aubin…
Guérande is only 9 km from campsite Les Paludiers.
